Yes, it's sad
when the body
can no longer carry
mind and soul and itself
any farther, any longer.
It is a vehicle.
It does break down.
So the mind mourns.
It yearns
for the days when
the body was lithe--
and so much stronger.
There is acceptance
and wit in the faces
of old folks
sitting in parks and piazzas
and homes for the old
worldwide. And light.
There is still light
in the faces and smiles,
and the eyes--yes,
light, which could be
traced back
to that original explosion,
expression, of matter's light,
in the begiining.
can no longer carry
mind and soul and itself
any farther, any longer.
It is a vehicle.
It does break down.
So the mind mourns.
It yearns
for the days when
the body was lithe--
and so much stronger.
There is acceptance
and wit in the faces
of old folks
sitting in parks and piazzas
and homes for the old
worldwide. And light.
There is still light
in the faces and smiles,
and the eyes--yes,
light, which could be
traced back
to that original explosion,
expression, of matter's light,
in the begiining.
