Just a pedantic note : Rilke's first name is RAINER-Maria, and the Rainer rhymes with Diner. No connection to the deceased Prince Rainier of Monaco who married some American actress or other. His sonnets are very difficult to translate into anything other than 'Translatorese', though Donald McIntyre's selection (University of Edinburgh Press) is pretty good.
